Fried leeks

Good Eats Fried Leeks

Ingredients

  • 12 oz leeks, trimmed of greens, cut in to 1/3" rings, 2 layers per leek
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups AP flour
  • 2 tsp kosher salt

Process

  • Whisk milk and eggs
  • Combine flour and salt, divide this in two bowls
  • Drip rings into flour mix #1, then eggs, then flour mix #2
  • Fry for 1.5 minutes or until golden brown
